What is mybetterbib?
mybetterbib is one bib designed for baby and mom: change its direction to switch from baby’s bib to coverage over your shoulder for burping. Its soft, absorbent wraparound shelf is designed to catch and soak up spit-up before it runs down the front or back of your clothes. A silicone interior helps the bib hold its shape. The product is in development.
How is it different from a regular bib or burp cloth?
Three features work together: the same bib changes direction for baby or mom; an absorbent shelf catches spit-up at the front and back; and a silicone interior helps it settle into shape with less cloth adjusting during late-night feeds. We’re designing it with non-toxic materials and easy machine washing in mind. Final materials, fit, care instructions, and performance will be confirmed through development and testing.
How does it work for both baby and parent?
Change the bib’s direction to switch between baby use and shoulder use. On baby, it fastens with a rear closure during supervised awake time. On mom or another caregiver, a separate stretch strap holds it over the shoulder; the baby closure is not used. The absorbent shelf is intended to catch spit-up on both sides of the shoulder. Final fit, instructions, and sizing will follow development and testing.
Is the shelf a hard plastic food catcher?
No. The design combines a soft, absorbent fabric shelf with a silicone interior that helps it hold its shape. Fabric soaks up spit-up, while the interior supports the shelf so there’s less cloth to rearrange when you’re tired. Soft padding separates that support from the neck. It is designed for spit-up and burping; final construction and performance are still being developed.
Will it be machine washable?
Yes—easy machine washing is part of the design brief, alongside non-toxic materials, absorbent fabric, and a silicone interior. We want it to stand up to everyday use and repeated washing. Final material specifications, care instructions, dryer suitability, and wash-test results will be confirmed before the product is offered.
When will the Kickstarter campaign launch?
The launch date, final price, and delivery schedule have not been announced. Join the email list for development updates and a notification when the campaign is ready. Joining is free and is not a preorder or a financial commitment.
Is it available to buy now?
Not yet. mybetterbib is in development. The images illustrate the concept and do not represent a finished, certified product. We will share prototype progress, testing, and confirmed specifications before launch.
Can a baby wear it while sleeping?
No. Bibs and burp cloths should be removed before sleep. mybetterbib is intended for supervised, awake use only. It is not a treatment for reflux or a substitute for feeding or medical advice.
Who is creating mybetterbib?
